Straight Off the Reheat Card

How to Store
Homemade Cookies

Sealed tight. 3 days on the counter, 3 months in the freezer. When you want one warm again, 350°F for 4 to 5 minutes brings the melt back. That is the whole answer. The rest of this page is why it works and how to get it right every time.

This is the card we hand out at pickup, written out long.

The Melt Comes Back

How to Reheat Cookies

Three ways. Pick by how much time you have.

The Oven, Step by Step

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F.

  2. Set the cookies straight on the sheet.

  3. Middle rack.

  4. 4 to 5 minutes. From frozen, 5 to 7.

  5. Pull them. Crisp edges, gooey middle.

Fair warning: warm ones disappear even faster.

Keep Them Fresh

Why Sealed Tight Is the Whole Game

Cookies go stale two ways. They dry out, or they pull moisture in from the air and go soft in all the wrong places. Airtight stops both. That is the entire reason the card says sealed tight and not just covered.

Cool them completely first. A warm cookie under a lid steams, the steam turns to water, and the water lands on your cookies. Give them the time, then seal them.

Ours are made with grass-fed butter, real vanilla, and real chocolate. Worth protecting. Start with the Chocolate Chip Cookie.

Do Not Refrigerate

The refrigerator dries cookies out. It is the one place on this page we will tell you not to put them. Counter for 3 days. Freezer for anything longer. Nothing in between.

Can You Freeze Cookies? Yes.

How to Freeze Cookies

  1. Cool Them Completely

No shortcuts on this one. A warm cookie sealed up steams, and that steam turns to water on your cookies.

  2. Seal Them Airtight

A freezer bag with the air pressed out, or a container with a lid that actually closes. Airtight is the whole game.

  3. Freeze

Up to 3 months. Label the bag if you are the type. We are not.

  4. Reheat Straight From Frozen

350°F, 5 to 7 minutes, middle rack. No thawing, no waiting. The melt comes back.

A batch of 6 rarely needs the freezer. We are not judging.
